Could Not Create the Java Virtual Machine. It’s annoying to encounter the “could not create the Java virtual machine” issue. There are some main reasons for the error: could not create the Java virtual machine. Wrong parameters or options call Java. Java global maximum heap memory is not high enough. How to fix 'Failed to create Java virtual Machine' in eclipse with JDK 14 on MAC - Duration: 1:31. Prerna Bhandari 816 views. 'Could not create java virtual machine' Can't launch 3DMark because it says this. I already have the JAVAOPTIONS and a maximum and minimum allocated memory size to the heap along with both 64-bit java and 32-bit java installed.

Manish,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue with MyEclipse.
Can you please answer some more questions ?
1. Are you working with a large workspace ? Do you see the issue with a fresh workspace ?
2. Did you install any third party plugins? Please share the MyEclipse Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
3. Here is an FAQ for the performance issues in MyEclipse 2015. Please check if it helps.
4. Can you please try starting MyEclipse with the -clean argument to see if that helps?
5. If the issue persists, can you please try increasing the -Xmx value from 768m in small incremental values i.e increase by 50 each time and see how it works?
6. If the above steps do not help, please send us the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log to help us investigate further.
Let us know how it works for you.
Manish,
Thank you for the files.
1. While we investigate further, do you see the issue with a new workspace ? Please switch to a new workspace and check if the issue persists. If yes, then please send us the .log file again.
2. Do you see any long running jobs on the MyEclipse IDE ?
3. Is MyEclipse still slow at -Xmx = 938m ? Did you see any improvement from -Xmx 768m to 938m ?
There is not enough virtual memory space requested by an application thus the application fails to start. This usually happens during the application startup phase. Applications reserve a large amount of virtual memory for the JVM heap space during the startup phase. Java on Windows uses an initial size of 16 Megabyte and a maximum of 64 Megabyte.
Most of the time you can fix this problem by uninstalling the Java runtime and then reinstalling it all over again. You can also try increasing the amount of system memory allocated to the Java virtual machine by setting an environment variable.
Open the Control Panel
Go to System
Go to Advanced Systems Properties
Then Environment Variables
In System Variables, click Add
New Variable Name: _JAVA_OPTIONS
New Variable Value: -Xmx512M
Click OK
