Good morning, Fear the Wall.

I want to rant about baseball for a second. How crazy has this World Series been? If you haven’t seen the wacky, buckner-esque ending to Game 4, then you’re really missing out. Check out this breakdown by Jomboy Media, one of the funniest Baseball channels on YouTube. It was an ending that had all the boneheaded base-running, fumbled catches, and unforced errors that you would expect from a Little League game, let alone a World Series matchup between two of the best teams in baseball.

That’s enough baseball, let’s talk about the Bundesliga.

Matchday Recap

So yeah, Bayern Munich look pretty good. It turns out that you have to be kinda good to win the Champions League. A few days after blowing out Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the Champions League group stage, the Bavarians hosted Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena and ran roughshod over them for 90 minutes. Robert Lewandowski notched a hat trick and Leroy Sané scored on a beautiful curled effort from outside the box, reminiscent of Arjen Robben.

It wasn’t all positive for Bayern Munich. Only a few minutes into the match, left back Alphonso Davies crumbled to the turf without contact, clutching his ankle. According to ESPN, after an examination it was determined that Davies suffered ligament damage and will miss 6-8 weeks. This means that he will be out for Bayern’s match against Borussia Dortmund on November 7th.

Elsewhere, Borussia Mönchengladbach staged a second-half comeback against Mainz to help get their season back on track. After the foals got an early lead off a goal from Lars Stindl, Mainz roared back with a brace from Jean-Philippe Mateta, before Gladbach crawled back in front with a penalty and a header off a corner from Matthias Ginter.

RB Leipzig faced Hertha Berlin, and managed to scrap out a 2-1 win. Hertha played the majority of the second half with only ten men after Deyovaisio Zeefuik was sent off with a red card after a pair of tackles on Christopher Nkunku.

In other results, Werder Bremen continued their strong start to the season with a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim. Stuttgart drew Köln, Union Berlin drew Freiburg, and Wolfsburg beat Arminia Bielefeld 2-1.

The final game of this match day is tonight, with Leverkusen facing Augsburg at home.
